Super Scholar Award Program

Super Scholar Award

Super Scholar is an incentive to help your children stay motivated to learn all of the memory work.

Students may choose one subject or all subjects to work toward mastery, assuring that anyone may compete at the level they are comfortable. Awards will be given to those who have successfully memorized each subject area–with the coveted Super Scholar award going to those that learn all 8 subjects.

Parents will work with their children at home and confirm that they are ready to be evaluated at year’s end. The Director will quiz the student with the memory work question or prompt.

For example:
Director:  “Tell me about the area of a rectangle.”
Student:  “The area of a rectangle equals length times width.”

Director:  “Tell me about the Civil Rights Movement.” The child will respond with the entire history statement.

Truth, Goodness, and Beauty Award

Truth, Goodness, and Beauty awards can be earned in addition or separately from Super Scholar.  This three-part award consists of Saints, Music, and Art and is focused on recognition and sharing information rather than exact memorization.  Students can choose one or all three subjects to work toward.  All information comes from the Tour Guide or CSH music for this award.  At year’s end, a tutor will randomly quiz the student to identify images or songs.

Once the Director is satisfied the child indeed has achieved any of the Super Scholar or Truth, Goodness, and Beauty awards, achievements and prizes will be celebrated and awarded at our Year-End Showcase!
