About our Chapter

Fishers IN Catholic Schoolhouse meets three out of four Wednesdays each month around 88th St. and Hague Rd.  We begin at 9:15 a.m. for morning prayer, the Pledge of Allegiance, and chorus for grammar students (Latin for dialectic and rhetoric students). Grammar students then move into their academics where they learn and review memory work and enjoy half-hour classes of hands-on art and science. Dialectic and rhetoric students move into their academics which includes communication (speech in a variety of styles) and writing (with IEW for dialectic or Lost Tools of Writing for rhetoric). Both dialectic and rhetoric also have an hour of seminar with Socratic discussion and interactive projects on various subjects such as history, literature, logic, Catholic culture, and Church documents. Our one-of-a-kind upper level Fine Arts Program offers quarterly seminars integrating art, music history, and culture in addition to hands-on projects in the style of famous artists of the time period. Dialectic students continue with hands-on science like the grammar students but for one hour every other week to allow for deeper study. Rhetoric students benefit from government, logic, or economics in the three year cycle – fulfilling those high school credits.  At the end of our class day, 12:30 p.m., families are invited to share lunch and social time before heading home.
